Minor perfect cadence — E7 to A minor New
The minor equivalent of the perfect cadence: E7 (not Em) is used as the dominant of A minor to strengthen the resolution — a very common borrowing from the harmonic minor scale, even within an otherwise natural-minor piece.
Tips
Notice that E7 contains a G# that doesn't exist in the A natural minor scale: it's precisely that "borrowed" note that makes the resolution to Am stronger than a plain Em would.
