Perfect cadence — G7 to C New
The strongest cadence in tonal music: the dominant chord (G7, degree V) resolves onto the tonic (C, degree I). This is the formula that closes the vast majority of pop/rock songs.
Tips
Play G7 then C several times in a row, listening only for the feeling of "rest" the moment C arrives: that feeling is what you need to learn to recognise by ear.
