Rock in Drop D — getting started New

Level 3 rock

A D5-G5-E5 power chord riff played in Drop D tuning (low E string tuned down a whole step to D). Chords marked with a "d" (D5d, G5d, E5d) are played as a single-finger barre across the bottom 3 strings, without the finger stretch needed in standard tuning.

Tips

Tune your low E string down to D precisely first (by ear against the open D string, or with a tuner) before starting. The same one-finger barre shape simply slides along the neck for each chord.
