Strumming — basic rock pattern

Level 1 rock ~110 BPM

A mostly downstroke pattern, with a single upstroke per strong beat, applied to the Em-C-G-D progression: the most direct attack style for a rock rhythm.

Tips

The three consecutive downstrokes need to stay even: slow down as long as the third stroke lands later or harder than the first two.

Strumming pattern

D = downstroke, U = upstroke, — = the arm keeps moving without touching the strings.
