Suspended cadence — E sus4 to E New
The suspended chord (Esus4) replaces the third with the fourth, creating a tension that "waits" to resolve onto the plain chord (E): the simplest formula to actually hear what a third does.
Tips
Play Esus4 and let it ring for a moment before resolving to E: the longer the wait, the more satisfying the resolution will sound.
