Rock in E minor (basic version) — muted strums
Unlike the catalogue's power-chord progressions, where muting a chord only means controlling 2 or 3 strings, these four chords (Em, C, G, D) use up to 6 strings: the palm has to cover a wider area without any string accidentally ringing normally, especially the treble strings, which often get forgotten.
Tips
Check each muted chord one string at a time: if even one rings fully, the palm isn't wide enough or far enough forward.
Em and G use all 6 strings, versus only 4 for D: if the muting is uneven, start with D, the easiest to cover evenly.
Once these four chords are mastered muted, the same palm technique will work on any open chord in the catalogue.
