Metal in G — muted strums
This grid (G5, C5, D5) is a i-iv-v: as with the catalogue's already-present rhythm version, the minor or major colour of these degrees stays inaudible on a power chord with no third. Muting only sharpens this effect: the short percussive sound leaves the ear even less time to guess at a harmony that, either way, isn't actually being played.
Tips
Don't try to make a particular colour ring out on these muted chords: the percussive motion makes the question moot.
Focus on the palm's regularity, the only thing that truly separates good muting from bad here.
If you ever play this grid unmuted, with the chords ringing fully, the harmonic colour will still stay theoretical as long as no third is added.
