Continuous rhythmic muting (chugging) New
A pure technical exercise, no chord or scale involved: on the low E string with heavy palm muting, play steady eighth notes, inserting one or two open (unmuted) notes every two bars to create rhythmic contrast.
Tips
Keep the palm mute constant even around the unmuted notes that follow: only lift the palm at the exact moment of the accented note, then rest it back down immediately.
